The SVP, Technology Strategy and Operations leads core technology platforms for R1. This includes cloud/data center, network and security engineering and corporate systems from both an engineering and operations perspective. The SVP is also accountable for leading technology design for new acquisition integration and ensuring a coherent set of technology standards for the organization. The SVP creates and manages the technology TCO model for R1 and lead the FinOps function for the department.
This role serves as the executive owner accountable for ensuring high-quality, cost-effective and secure core technology platforms and delivery to R1 success.
Essential ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure and Operations- Lead definition, execution and operation of R1's cloud strategy and ongoing migration of on-prem hardware to the cloud
- Design and operate a best-in-class global network to ensure performance, resiliency and availability
- Define and operate an operations support function to ensure all capabilities consistently meet or exceed SLAs
- Partner with the Cybersecurity team to ensure all solutions meet standards to secure R1 and client data
TCO and FinOps- Establish and activate a TCO model to establish and benchmark costs
- Mature the FinOps capability and establish an evergreen program to ensure consumption meets budgets and forecasts
Technology Standards and Integration- Maintain a published set of standards for common technology and govern against exceptions
- Lead acquisition or new client integration to create a roadmap to standardization
- Govern the enterprise technology reference architecture to ensure tech debt and sprawl is minimized
Operating Model & Organizational Leadership- Build and evolve a high-performing global organization
- Define clear roles across:
- Internal teams
- Offshore delivery
- Third-party security providers
- Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement across the function
Financial Stewardship & Efficiency- Own the budget and investment strategy
- Optimize spend across personnel, tools, and vendors
- Ensure strong ROI and alignment with enterprise risk priorities
Key OutcomesWithin the first 12-18 months, the SVP will be expected to:

Experience & Qualifications- 15+ years of experience in technology leadership
- Experience in enterprise leadership roles leading enterprise strategy and/or operations across cloud, corporate systems, M&A integration and TCO/Finops
- Leadership experience in regulated industries (healthcare preferred)

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $304,000.00 - $380,019.46 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 40.00%
