Job Overview
Benchmark Gensuite is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications across our core technology stack, which includes Node.js backend services, React web applications, and Flutter mobile applications.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in full-stack development, enjoys solving technical problems, and can independently deliver moderately complex features while collaborating closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams.
Experience Level: 3-5 years of related software development experience
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain application features using Node.js, React, and Flutter.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly web application components using React.
- Contribute to cross-platform mobile application development using Flutter and Dart.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across backend, web, and mobile applications.
- Create and maintain unit and integration tests.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with engineers, product team members, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and implement practical technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical discussions, project planning, and development estimates.
- Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding tools, to support productivity and code quality.
- Stay current with relevant technologies and development practices.
Required Technical Skills
Backend Development
- At least three years of professional experience with Node.js or a comparable backend technology.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints.
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of server-side architecture, middleware, and backend frameworks such as Express.js or Fastify.
Frontend Development
- At least two years of professional experience with React.js.
- Experience with React Hooks, component-based development, and modern React patterns.
- Familiarity with state management approaches such as Redux or Context API.
- Understanding of responsive web development and user-interface best practices.
Mobile Development
- Experience with Flutter, React Native, or another cross-platform mobile development framework.
- Familiarity with mobile application development concepts and lifecycle.
- Interest in developing deeper expertise with Flutter and Dart.
General Development
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and relevant testing frameworks.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with modern development tools, IDEs, and build processes.
- Ability to independently manage assigned development work while collaborating effectively with the broader team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Three to five years of professional software development experience.
- Experience working in a collaborative software development environment.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to moderately complex development projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and work across backend, web, and mobile applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience developing production mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or DevOps practices.
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Understanding of mobile application deployment processes for the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
- Exposure to LLM APIs, AWS Bedrock, prompt engineering, AI agent frameworks, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation.
- Experience contributing to technical documentation or informally supporting less-experienced developers.
