US Fleet Specialist

The Opportunity

As a Fleet Specialist, you will oversee the daily management, compliance, and performance of a U.S.-based vehicle fleet supporting business units and operating locations. The role focuses on managing company vehicles, fleet assets, and material handling equipment while coordinating lifecycle activities such as ordering, maintenance, licensing, and disposal. You will work across functions and with vendors to maintain accurate fleet data, monitor utilization and costs, and support operational needs. The role addresses challenges related to regulatory compliance, cost control, vendor performance, and safety across a geographically distributed fleet. By maintaining effective fleet operations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, you contribute to reliable field operations that enable service delivery and infrastructure support tied to broader energy systems.

  • Manage vehicle lifecycle activities including ordering, registration, maintenance coordination, and disposal
  • Monitor fleet utilization, downtime, maintenance activity, and overall performance metrics
  • Ensure fleet data accuracy in management systems and reporting tools
  • Support driver qualification processes, records review, and accident reporting follow-up
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve issues related to maintenance, billing, delivery, and services

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent fleet management experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fleet management, transportation, logistics, operations, or asset management experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. fleet operations, vehicle lifecycle management, maintenance processes, fuel programs, registration, licensing, and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with U.S. DOT/FMCSA regulations, driver qualification requirements, and fleet safety practices preferred.
  • Experience managing fleet vendors, service providers, leasing companies, or fleet management companies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fleet data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with fleet management systems, telematics platforms, fuel card systems, or asset management tools preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve issues independently, and work effectively across business units and functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
  • Certified Automotive Fleet Manager, Certified Equipment Manager, or other fleet-related certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting a geographically distributed corporate fleet.
  • Experience with Holman, Geotab, Element, Wheels, LeasePlan, ARI, or similar fleet platforms preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, ServiceNow, Power BI, SharePoint, Planner, or similar enterprise systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of IRS personal use/company vehicle reporting processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting both regulated and non-regulated vehicle fleets.
  • Background in manufacturing, energy, utilities, industrial services, or field service operations preferred.
