Overview

The Equity Research Department seeks an Associate for the US REIT Research Team. Depending on the level of experience, the candidate may also be considered for a Vice President (VP) title. Ideal candidate should have proven experience in equity research/investment banking, ideally within the REIT sector. As a heavy portion of the role will involve coverage of Healthcare REITs, candidates with sell-side research or investment banking experience in healthcare (ideally healthcare services) will also be preferred. Other sector experience relevant to the role include broader financial services, , experience in CMBS research or experience working at a REIT in a strategy/corporate development/financial analysis type role. Technically proficiency is key, so candidates ideally should have an MBA or CPA, have passed Level 2 of the CFA and/or have experience in sell-side equity research, investment banking, private equity or investment management. Candidates should expect to take a modelling and written test as part of the recruiting process to demonstrate proficiency.

As a more seasoned research associate on the team, you will work closely with other team members to support the Senior Analyst in providing research coverage of stocks for use by external firm clients and other internal constituents. You will be expected to take the lead on functions such as financial modelling, writing earnings reports, spear-heading the process of turning research ideas into research reports and working on AI-related initiatives. Interaction with the research sales force and external clients should be expected.

What You'll Do
  • Direct involvement in company and industry research produced by the team
  • Financial modeling to forecast company results and value equity securities, collecting and evaluating industry data, maintaining industry databases
  • Translating quantitative financial conclusions into written form, charts and graphs that can be included in research reports and distributed to clients of the Firm
  • In addition, Research Associates should be flexible in switching between periods of heavy financial modeling and assignments that involve more qualitative writing and presentation skills


Skills You'll Need
  • Strong quantitative skills - You will demonstrate strong finance, accounting, and overall valuation skills
  • Solid writing and presentation skills - You should have an equal capacity to express quantitative conclusions in both written and spoken form; Associates should be able to translate financial analyses into high quality chart and graphical representations for use in research reports
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point skills - Ability to create complex, yet easily understandable financial models for use by Senior Analyst and firm clients
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills in working with the research team, sales force, trading, firm clients, and company contacts
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to achieve results

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York is $135,000 - $210,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
