Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The University Utility and Infrastructure Planner coordinates, manages, and forecasts to optimize capital planning and renewal and the growth and sustainability of campus. Coordinates capital renewal projects through project scope, impact assessment, and engagement with infrastructure partners. Assesses and develops infrastructure resiliency planning initiatives to improve the campus environment.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, building science, or closely related technical field and six (6) years of construction, design, or facilities management experience; OR master's degree in architecture, engineering, building science, or closely related technical field and four (4) years of construction, design, or facilities management experience. Must be able to carry out the physical requirements of the job which may include climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding. Must be willing to work at heights above thirty (30) feet, or below grade.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to assess existing and proposed infrastructure systems using various industry-specific metrics. Ability to identify system sub-components for further analysis, and envision possible external integrations and / or conflicts. Ability to communicate effectively with multiple groups, providing relevant information to guide decision making. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple individuals, groups, and/or tasks. Ability to manage full-time or part-time employees as assigned. Understanding of construction plans and technical documentation. Ability to review contracts and agreements. Proficient with computer aided drawing, mapping, and general office software.

Preferred Qualifications: Ten (10) years experience in mechanical, electrical or plumbing design for commercial buildings. Five (5) years experience at a university or similar large campus setting. Five (5) years experience in facilities management and planning. Experience in deferred maintenance / capital renewal planning. Experience in employee management.
