The Engineering Applications Department (EAD) is seekinga Unity and UX/UIDeveloperto create world-class user experiences for complex space systems. We develop cutting-edge visualization tools from sophisticated web and desktop applications to immersive experiences, that transform complex engineering data into intuitive interfaces for critical decision-making in civil, commercial, and national security space programs.
ISCD staffleveragecutting-edge information system technologies, including elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and advanced visualization frameworks, combined with expertise in software architecture, AI, and cybersecurity to deliver high-performance systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.
You willwork closely with product experience designers and other engineers to translate customer needs into innovative design solutions.
This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA, which requires 100% onsite work.
What You'll Be Doing
Build responsive, accessible, high-performance front-end interfaces with exceptional attention to detail
Develop and implementintuitive experiences for game engine applications,advanced visualization software, andimmersive technologies
Partner with developers, engineers, scientists, and stakeholders to align vision and deliver cohesive solutions
Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and user empathy
What You Need to be Successful
MinimumRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or related STEM discipline
At least two years of development experience in Unity or other game engines (post bachelors completion), with expertise developing complex solutions for complete digital environments
Proven experience with Python, C#, C++, or JavaScript; understanding of RESTful APIs, version control (Git), and modern development workflows
Demonstrated ability in user research, usability testing, rapid prototyping, and accessibility
Proven ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives
This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Master's or Ph.D. in HCI, Computer Science, Design, or Human Factors
Experience in UX/UI design and development
Extensive experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine), 3D visualization environments, and AR/VR
Experience with WebGL, Three.js, D3.js, Qt, OpenGL, shader programming, or real-time rendering
Proficient skills in motion design using After Effects, Cinema4D, or similar tools
Proficiency with Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, or equivalent modeling tools
Experience in aerospace, defense, or government sectors
Deep understanding of graphics principles, 3D math, and rendering pipelines
Experience building and maintaining large-scale design systems
Publications, presentations, or patents in UX/UI or human-computer interaction
Current DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
