Responsibilities

Full Job Description
The Unit Manager is responsible for the delivery of high quality and safe clinical services. The Unit Manager will manage clinical and support staff of the Unit. This team leader is also responsible and accountable for daily operations to achieve best practice and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification is required
  • Demonstrated clinical competence with a minimum of 3 years nursing experience required
  • Nursing leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership and motivational skills. Critical thinking, program development and project management skills. Skilled in group facilitation and/or team building is a must.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Unit Manager at Spring Hills Matawan includes:
  • Responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating and adjusting all aspects of the unit
  • Responsibility for demonstrating age appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care delivered to patients and the 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the department
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with referring facilities
  • Develop and report QAPI that are pertinent to the unit
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects and maintaining a work pace appropriate to the workload
