Salary range (but not limited to): 101,800 - 124,400 Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance): 12% As part of our commitment to Win As A Team, we share our success with employees through our annual bonus plan and Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) - with Intact matching 50% of your net shares. About the role We're looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Property Claims Specialists/Appraisal, to join our growing team! As a leader in this role, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the relationship with our vendor network and overseeing the integrity and accuracy of property damage estimates to ensure a seamless claims process. This opportunity can be based out of any of the following Ontario offices: Ajax, London, Mississauga, Ottawa or Toronto. What you'll do here:
  • Lead, coach and mentor a mix of Property Claims Specialists and/or Major Loss Appraisers fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture to achieve team and organizational goals.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal appraisers and external vendors to ensure that estimates are detailed and comply with regulatory requirements, company policies and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining appraisal workflows, improving estimate accuracy, and enhancing overall claims efficiency. Drive initiatives to reduce cycle times and improve the customer experience.
  • Focus on ensuring vendors provide high-quality service supporting positive outcomes for customers and maintaining satisfaction throughout the vendor's involvement.
  • Effectively identify and develop talent, demonstrate strong performance management within your team.
  • Work closely with vendor managers, claims adjusters, and property leadership to ensure that appraisals, estimates, and repair timelines align with department objectives.
  • Track and evaluate vendor and team performance through data-driven analysis, reporting on trends to senior leadership.
What you bring to the table:
  • University degree, College diploma or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Strong Leadership, coaching and career development experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence diverse groups.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the disaster restoration industry, including; mitigation (IICRC), building construction practises and property valuation methodologies (Xactimate) and related systems.
  • Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of work,
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data to identify trends and make informed decisions to optimize the claims process and vendor performance.
  • Prior experience estimating major losses for personal and commercial property losses is preferred
