Job DescriptionLongbridge is looking for our next Underwriting Team Lead. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Accurately evaluate and underwrite HECM and/or Proprietary reverse mortgage loan files submitted by retail and wholesale production channels, in accordance with company policy and FHA HECM and Platinum program guidelines.
Primary Job Duties:
- Supervise a team of underwriters and monitor team performance for the review and decisioning of Reverse Mortgage loans
- Conduct second level reviews
- Assist as needed to resolve escalation questions
- Assist in hiring and training underwriters
- Collaborate with underwriters, processors, sales, and external brokers to assist with structuring Reverse transactions
- Review underwriting decisions and conditions, and may underwrite loans as needed
- Have a thorough knowledge of HECM and/or Proprietary Reverse underwriting guidelines and constantly staying on top of any changes
- Work closely with Underwriting Management to implement plans, improve consistency, efficiency, and shorten turn times.
QualificationsRequired Experience:
- 5+ years of recent HECM and/or Proprietary mortgage underwriting experience
- DE Certification required
- Ability and desire to lead and mentor a team
- Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions
- Able to maintain a positive attitude and be productive when under pressure and under tight deadlines
- Proven ability to interpret and communicate regulatory guidance
- Strong attention to detail, superior analytical skills, data driven mentality
- Excellent customer service skills including both verbal and written communication

- Target base salary range is 115-125K which is based on various factors including skills and work experience.
- In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program via monthly production bonus that is based on individual performance.
