As a Professional Liability Underwriter on our Miscellaneous and Construction PI team, you will play a central role in shaping and growing a high-performing portfolio of professional liability risks. You'll be at the intersection of underwriting excellence and market engagement - analyzing complex risks, negotiating terms, and building the kind of trusted broker relationships that drive long-term business success. Key Responsibilities- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Miscellaneous and Construction Professional Liability risks with a focus on profitability and portfolio quality
- Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with retail and wholesale broker partners to generate a consistent flow of quality submissions
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with Swiss Re's underwriting strategy and appetite
- Analyze risk exposures, pricing adequacy, coverage structures, and policy terms to deliver well-reasoned underwriting decisions
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients while maintaining sound underwriting discipline and risk selection standards
- Collaborate closely with claims, actuarial, and underwriting colleagues to monitor and support overall portfolio performance
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging developments within the professional liability landscape
- Represent Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in the marketplace through broker meetings, industry events, and client engagement activities

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:- 5+ years of Professional Liability underwriting experience, with a strong track record of sound risk selection and portfolio management
- Demonstrated expertise in underwriting Miscellaneous Professional Liability and/or Construction Professional Liability risks
- Established broker network within the professional liability insurance marketplace, with a proven ability to develop and grow profitable broker relationships
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to assess complex risk exposures, evaluate pricing adequacy, and structure coverage solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate underwriting positions and build trust with internal and external stakeholders

The estimated base salary range for this position is $168,000 to $252,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role, will take into account many factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short- and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
