We are seeking a self-starter, highly motivated, and results-oriented underwriting professional to join the Executive Risks team and play a key role in executing SCOR Specialty Insurance's Financial Institutions single risk strategy. This highly visible position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the profitable growth and long-term success of a diverse portfolio of financial institution risks.

The successful candidate will possess a strong underwriting foundation, technical expertise, organizational skills, and exceptional relationship management. They will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting complex financial institution risks, developing and maintaining broker and client relationships, and contributing to portfolio management initiatives that support broader business objectives. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with commercial acumen and is comfortable making informed decisions in a fast-paced and evolving market environment.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include underwriting new and renewal business, assessing exposures and pricing adequacy, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and risk appetite. The role will also involve collaborating closely with claims, actuarial, legal, and wordings teams to support product development, policy form enhancements, and overall portfolio performance.

In addition to underwriting responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to actively cultivate and strengthen relationships with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders. They should be capable of representing SCOR in the marketplace, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the continued growth and visibility of the Financial Institutions franchise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from reputable institution; advanced degree or professional insurance designation (CPCU, RPLU, ARM, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience within the Financial Lines insurance market.
  • Demonstrated experience underwriting public and private financial institution risks.
  • Strong knowledge of Directors & Officers (D&O), Professional Liability/E&O, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability, and related Executive Risks products.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial statements, assess complex exposures, and develop risk-based underwriting and pricing decisions.
  • Experience negotiating coverage terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability objectives.
  • Working knowledge of policy wording development, coverage interpretation, and manuscript endorsements.
  • Established broker relationships and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute upon new business pipeline and manage strategic distribution partnerships.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make timely underwriting decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present underwriting strategies and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Pay Range for roles performed in NY: $130,410-$159,390 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including
but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance
coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
