Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriter, Commercial Management Liability as part of our CML team.

What you’ll be doing: 

·         Focuses on the production, underwriting, and servicing of profitable Commercial Management Liability business with an emphasis on properly determining capacity, attachment points, terms, and pricing. 

·         Maintaining & enhancing existing broker relationships, as well as identifying and developing new relationships within the Mid-Atlantic region with both retail and wholesale partners.   

·         Developing and executing marketing plans aimed at retaining existing business and producing new opportunities that fit within the CML division risk appetite. 

·         Interacting, communicating and negotiating with all levels of external and/or internal business partners. 

·         Monitors all industry and specific account trends by closely monitoring financial news and stock market developments through reading of the WSJ, Capital IQ, SNL, Moody’s and other data sources.   

·         Implements a field service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industry. 

 

 

What you’ll bring: 

·         Ability to build and foster relationships with brokerage contacts within the Chicago Region Wholesale Network. 

·         1-3 years in the financial sector and/or Underwriting & Insurance experience preferred 

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills  

·         Strong analytical and organizational skills  

·         Ability to travel approximate 10% of the time 

 

 

Salary Range: $80,000 – $125,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
