A well known hospital in Brooklyn is seeking a Fulltime Ultrasound Tech. The Registered ultrasound tech performs quality abdomen, vascular, extrematic studies as ordered by the physicians as well as the performance of all other non-invasive cardiac procedures within the Echo Lab Department.

- Consistently performs quality Doppler and color Doppler exams.
- Maintains competence in all Ultrasound Department procedures.
- Understands cardiac disease processes to ensure complete image acquisition.
- Reports patient condition changes to physicians, nurses, and supervisors.
- Demonstrates basic understanding of acquired images.
- Communicates findings to radiologists for timely interpretation.
- Records preliminary interpretations and documents patient information accurately and promptly.
- Notifies radiology of referral studies needing interpretation.
- Completes all required processing for each study.
- Educates patients and families and communicates effectively with them.
- Uses RIS/PACS & Empower systems accurately to manage orders and reports.
- Assists with outpatient scheduling and appointment coordination.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment per department procedures.
- Identifies equipment issues, reports them appropriately, and assists with evaluation of new equipment.
Job Requirements: Job Requirements: Education/Licensure:
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program
with a focus in echocardiography and/ or vascular studies. - Satisfactory completion of a recognized course in arrhythmia detection.
- RDMS in Sonography
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
Experience:
- Six (6) months experience as a registered ultrasound tech & vascular tech.
- Two (2) years' experience as a vascular tech preferred.
