Based in our corporate headquarter, Wilmington, Delaware, this role will partner closely with business, site, functional, and government affairs leaders to advance advocacy strategies that support DuPont's innovation, operations, and growth. The successful candidate will monitor emerging policy developments, engage with policymakers and stakeholders, and represent DuPont with credibility, clarity, and sound judgment.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with business leaders, site leaders, and functional teams to identify emerging issues, align advocacy priorities, and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with DuPont's Global and U.S. Federal Government Affairs teams to deliver coordinated advocacy strategies across priority policy, regulatory, and business issues.
  • Design and execute state government affairs strategies across priority states, including legislative and regulatory engagement plans.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate state legislative and regulatory developments that may affect DuPont's businesses, operations, products, customers, or communities.
  • Build and strengthen productive relationships with state policymakers, officials, regulators, industry peers, trade associations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Represent DuPont in meetings, trade associations, coalitions, and stakeholder forums, including by preparing policy materials, briefing documents, testimony, and talking points.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, lobbyists, trade associations, and coalition partners to support advocacy objectives and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Translate complex business and technical topics into clear, persuasive messages for policymakers, senior leaders, and other stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong understanding of U.S. state legislative, regulatory, and policymaking processes, with experience engaging state legislatures, governors' offices, agencies, or regulatory bodies.
  • Experience developing and executing state-level advocacy strategies for a corporation, trade association, government office, campaign, or public policy organization.
  • A proven ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and operate with independence and sound judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare briefing materials, policy summaries, testimony, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical, regulatory, and business issues clearly and succinctly to policymakers, executives, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Experience in managing external consultants, lobbyists, trade association engagement, or coalition activity.
  • Knowledge of chemical regulation and environmental policy.
  • Familiarity with policy issues affecting healthcare, water, and industrial sectors-such as mobility or construction-is preferred but not required.
