Description

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Maintenance Trainer to support underground operations at Turquoise Ridge Mine in Winnemucca, Nevada. This role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of training and performance initiatives for underground mobile maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work practices.

The Senior Mobile Maintenance Trainer works closely with supervisors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and leadership to identify performance gaps, develop targeted training programs, and strengthen workforce capability. This position plays a key role in improving safety performance, increasing equipment reliability, and supporting productivity by ensuring technicians are trained to meet company and regulatory standards.

This role supports Nevada Gold Mines' commitment to safety and sustainability by promoting a culture of continuous improvement, maintaining accurate training documentation, and aligning training initiatives with operational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with line management to identify performance gaps and training needs, ensuring training programs align with operational goals and business initiatives.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of mobile maintenance training and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Guide, mentor, and support subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure consistent and effective training delivery.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize training schedules and activities based on operational needs.
  • Develop individual training plans and coordinate with supervisors to ensure training requirements are completed.
  • Assess technician competency, including preventive maintenance (PM) quality inspections, and implement targeted training to improve inspection accuracy, consistency, and equipment reliability.
  • Conduct regular skills assessments and performance evaluations to ensure technicians meet competency expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, procedures, and work practice documentation.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), PM checklists, and supporting documentation remain accurate and current.
  • Validate bill of materials and support the development and maintenance of maintenance procedures.
  • Deliver presentations and training sessions to crews and departments as required.
  • Support audits of employee progression, training compliance, and competency standards.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships across departments to promote effective learning and development.
  • Coordinate with regional teams and other sites to address competency gaps and identify opportunities for shared resources and curriculum improvements.
  • Promote strict adherence to statutory requirements and company safety policies, serving as a role model for safe work practices.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, training effectiveness, and operational performance.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in underground maintenance training required.
  • Five (5) years of mobile maintenance experience preferred, particularly with underground mobile equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in maintenance or training environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of underground maintenance practices and preventive maintenance processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver effective training presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and personnel.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
