Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a TSMO Field Manager to join the Mobility Team. As an TSMO Field Manager, you will oversee the integration, operation, and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and associated network devices, including CCTV systems, dynamic message signs, travel time readers, vehicle detection devices, and traffic signal operations. The TSMO Field Manager will manage a team responsible for the configuration, installation, and upkeep of critical communications infrastructure, such as Layer 2/3 network switches, cellular routers, fiber optic networks, and wireless radio systems.

This role will require travel throughout the Southeast United States, including assignments on major transportation routes and in various outdoor conditions.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to maintaining reliable and innovative transportation and traffic management systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising staff in troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure optimal connectivity and system performance across the assigned region.
  • Managing traffic signal operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and integration with ITS for improved traffic flow and safety.
  • Coordinating system upgrades and maintenance schedules to minimize disruptions and maximize efficiency.
  • Overseeing project estimating for ITS and traffic signal projects, including cost analysis, resource allocation, and timeline development.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical protocols for all ITS and traffic signal operations.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to team members, fostering professional development and high-quality service delivery.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and vendors to support seamless ITS integration, traffic signal enhancements, and ongoing system improvements.

  • Commitment to safety, with comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols relevant to outdoor and roadway environments.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel throughout the Southeast United States, including assignments on major transportation routes and in various outdoor conditions.
  • Technical expertise in CCTV systems, communications network infrastructure, and electrical systems, supporting a wide range of ITS and traffic signal projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Intelligent Transportation System devices, such as Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Dynamic Messaging Signs (DMS), Vehicle Detection Devices, and related technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure effective project delivery and ongoing system improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 15 years' experience in ITS device integration, traffic signal operations, and project estimation preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
  • NFPA 70 Electrical or the willingness to obtain after hire
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician
  • Fiber Optic and/or Wireless Communications certifications
  • ATTSA Traffic Control Supervisor

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $91,160.00 - $138,240.00. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
