The Opportunity

- Reporting to the Vice President of Logistics, you will be responsible for the overall management of fuel trucking operations including drivers, supervisors, dispatch, and fleet activities. Ensures safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of petroleum products while maintaining high service levels and controlling operating costs. Accountable for regulatory compliance, operational performance, and team leadership across all trucking functions.
Key activities include:- Lead and supervise trucking supervisors, drivers, and dispatch personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
- Oversee daily trucking operations, including scheduling, routing, dispatch coordination, and delivery execution.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, hazardous materials, and Company policies and procedures.
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS), Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), electronic logging systems, and required operational documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead incidents, accidents, and safety investigations, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee driver recruitment, onboarding, training, qualification, and ongoing development programs.
- Promote and enforce safe driving practices, hazard awareness, and a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Oversee fleet preventive maintenance programs and coordinate vehicle repairs and maintenance activities with internal teams and external vendors.
- Monitor fleet availability and coordinate with dispatch operations to maintain service reliability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve delivery issues, operational concerns, and customer service matters.
- Manage operational performance by monitoring productivity, cost control, service reliability, and overall fleet effectiveness.
- Respond to operational incidents and provide leadership and decision-making support during emergency situations.
- Provide operational coverage and support for after-hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency business needs as required.

QualificationsTo meet the basic qualifications for employment, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. - High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or related field preferred but not required
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License with acceptable Driver's Abstract
- Must maintain active Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Must meet all applicable DOT qualification requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years in fuel transportation, trucking, or logistics operations
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing supervisors, drivers and/or dispatch teams
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Type A with X and T endorsements preferred
- DOT compliance or safety program certification preferred
- Smith System Trainer preferred
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, hazardous materials regulations
- Experience overseeing fleet maintenance programs and coordinating repairs
- Experience with Hours of Service (HOS), Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and driver qualifications records
- Experience with incident investigations, safety programs and regulatory compliance
- Proficient in transportation systems and general computer applications
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor and motivate teams
Hiring Range:The hiring range for this position is $133,000 - $230,000 plus non-discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
