Full Job Description
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Treasurer & Tax Manager is responsible for managing and administering the day-to-day tax activities of the company. This includes income, payroll, sales and use, GST and excise tax matters. It does also include compliance work for supplier creation, fixed assets etc. They will also develop and deliver all tax planning and compliance services needed within the North American region in both U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards. The position will also be accountable for the effective management of the corporation's cash flow and both short and long term investments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, develop and execute corporate tax strategies and policies consistent with corporate operational goals.
  • Review proposed transactions in their formative stages and advise or propose changes to achieve the best tax result.
  • Identify and propose interpretations of law and alternate approaches consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Manage the tax research process and the use of outside advisors and advise top management of the relevant tax impacts of new or proposed legislation, decisions, regulations, and rulings.
  • Encourage operating management to seek appropriate tax advice by promoting tax consciousness and awareness throughout the company.
  • Coordinate and manage the tax return preparation, documentation, and payment process and systems, both Federal and State and Canadian (GST/PST).
  • Ensure the proper collaboration and coordination with corporate tax planning strategies - ensure execution and coordination.
  • Responsible for the overall determination of taxable income, allowable credits, tax elections and related statements and disclosures, transfer price documentation and multi-state apportionment.
  • Represent the company in revenue agent examinations and inquiries and determine effective presentation and defense strategies.
  • Resolve tax interests in the company's best interest. Negotiate and challenge proposed revenue agent adjustments.
  • Prepare and file refunds and carry back claims, protests, and administrative appeals on all tax matters. Manage tax challenge work at the appeals/litigation level.
  • Manage the financial statement reporting and disclosure requirements related to income taxes.
  • Calculate book income tax provision and document relevant exposures.
  • Work with the financial accounting team to achieve quarterly and annual reporting deadlines and streamline information flows.
  • Designs and implements a cash management system.
  • Analyzes financial records to forecast short-, medium-, and long-term financial position (e.g., multi-year Cash Flow Roadmaps) and budget requirements.
  • Evaluates the need for procurement of funds and investment of surplus.
  • Advises management on investments and loans for short- and long-range financial plans.
  • Prepares cash flow and other financial reports for management.
  • Develops policies and procedures for account collections and extension of credit to customers.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
  • At least five years of public accounting and industry experience including federal, multi-state and international income tax responsibilities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing organization, or a public accounting firm providing support to manufacturing clients.
  • Prior experience in sales and use, payroll and property taxes.


EXPERTISE:
  • Hands-on experience in US GAAP to IFRS conversions and dual-reporting frameworks. (On going project to simplify to one GAAP).
  • Demonstrated success planning, developing and executing high-level tax strategies.
  • Proven experience with cash flow modeling and long-term financial roadmaps in collaboration with global/group treasury teams
  • Must be able to communicate with and establish effective working relationships with all levels of the employee team - strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working as an individual contributor, capable of augmenting required support from outside agencies.
  • Experience with tax compliance and cash management tools, bank account verification software, and ERP systems
  • Strong Google Suites and Microsoft Office computer skills required.


EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, finance or a related discipline. An MBA is preferred .

  • Finance Director, FP&A team, Accounting team, IT, Group treasury team, GroupTax team
  • Tax solution provider, Tax consultant (EY), State/Federal administration.

  • Base Salary Range between $120,000 - $165,000 per year, plus a potential annual bonus based on performance metrics

  • This position is located in West Bend, WI
  • Travel Requirements - There would be travel opportunities up to 5% of the year including a potential trip to our global corporate office in France once a year
