Superintendent I and II

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent that will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline. Develop and enhance customer relationships, including owners, employees, and some sub-contractors by providing excellent service.

LOCATIONS: AZ, CA, CO, NM, TX (other locations as needed.)

  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.


MUST HAVES TO BE CONSIDERED FOR POSITION:
  • How to look ahead at project; daily, weekly, monthly and 6 months ahead.
  • Looking for Superintendents that can LEAD a project, including 2-3 Superintendents, as well as understand and work with the craft, as well as management/project team.
  • Must have self-perform experience.
  • Experience partnering with PM, leading Engineers, understanding where/when to get equipment and materials.,
  • Owner's Reps that have only managed GCs or Subs are not ideal candidates.
  • Prefer someone that understands mechanical, civil and electrical scops of
  • Need someone that can has the foresight for the entire project schedule. Understand how to use numbers to calculate manpower, equipment and material needs.
  • Please review minimum years of experience to be qualified for Superintendent experience needed.
  • Experience in underground cabling, excavating, trenching, conduit and cables. Install piles and batteries (LV), preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedule


  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability, understand contract documents, coordinate plans with design engineers


  • Develop and manage project schedule, site logistics plan, utilize tools and equipment, collaborate with project partner superintendents


  • Coach, supervise, and develop team members, conduct orientations, planning sessions, site meetings, supervise project partners, interview/hire/transfer/dismiss team members


  • Ensure proper task coding, lead and track work progress, handle team member training, conduct career development discussions


  • Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels


  • Lead by example, offer coaching and feedback, manage performance


  • Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance, recognize and mitigate unfavorable conditions, seek process improvements


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management,


  • OR 10 years trade experience


  • Current driver's license


  • Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects


  • Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks


  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices


  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills


  • Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills


  • Ability to interpret and communicate company policies


  • Effective communication and active listening skills, openness to diverse input and feedback, ability to travel up to 100%

Superintendent I

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience


  • The base pay range for this role is $111,400 - $167,100.


Superintendent 2

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 8 years construction management or related experience


  • The base pay range for this role is $130,100 - $195,200.


(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
