Position Description: Manage, plan, and assess project information necessary to construct project on time, within budget, and to quality specified by contract documents. Accountable for building overall construction project "on paper.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with Architects, Trade Partners, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors, Owner's Representatives, and project staff to
    resolve issues related to construction plans and specifications.
  • Participate in constructability reviews during preconstruction on assigned projects and contribute to Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and/or estimate preparation.
  • Leverage knowledge of national and local building codes and requirements, and company internal policies to ensure project staff awareness of anything that impacts project.
  • Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) documents to communicate expectations to trades partners.
  • Manage submittals and shop drawings, assess conformance to contract specifications, and resolve conflicts in interpretation.
  • Schedule and manage trade partner coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings, and submittal review meetings.
  • Prepare analysis and manage information for scope changes. Manage change order process, including negotiations,
    obtaining and checking estimates from trade partners, obtaining approvals from Architect and Owner, and resolving
    conflicts.
  • Oversee and make decisions related to contract drawings to ensure drawings and specifications properly relate to estimate.
  • Manage construction project budget and cost allocations.
  • Generate project reports such as General Conditions Items, Labor, Safety, Change Order Logs, and Quality Control.
    Assist with rollout of new engineering procedures manuals and checklists with emphasis on risk management practices and adopt engineering processes and technology enhancements.
  • Keep current on new technologies or systems with potential impact to engineering operations and projects.
  • Participate in Project Launch and maintain continual general overview of project engineering procedures.
    Assist in identification of project engineering risks and participate in development of risk mitigation strategy.
  • Contribute best practices for various engineering procedures or methods, including scheduling, budgeting and Quality
  • Control to enhance engineering practices.
  • Oversee close-out process and evaluate information to ensure compliance with contract documents, prepare final records including: Requests for Information (RFI's), close-out records, warranties, as-builts, Operations and Maintenance manuals (O&Ms), attic stock, and spare parts.
  • Manage off-site document storage and retrieval processes.
  • May supervise team of Engineering project staff and participate in hiring process, onboard and deliver timely performance feedback for direct reports, execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilize talent management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.


The salary range for this position is estimated to be 95,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD annualized.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or
    similar, and minimum of 4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Working knowledge of construction engineering principles and techniques, field supervision, scheduling, estimating,
    purchasing, and basic understanding of construction accounting procedures
  • Knowledgeable of building construction materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
  • Basic knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents
  • Able to work with minimum information and quickly develop understanding of owner/architect requirements
  • Project management of competing demands and meet established deadlines
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies
