Qualifications

• Active BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid professional nursing license in the state of practice
• Recommended Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) credentials recommended for travel positions
• Preferred additional specialty-related certifications
• At least 2 years of CVICU RN experience in a hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients post-open-heart surgery and heart transplants
• Monitor and observe patient conditions for changes
• Perform diagnostic tests and analyze patient charts
• Document medical histories and care plans accurately
• Collaborate with medical teams to optimize patient recovery
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care
