Full Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Analyst, Transportation candidate.

If you enjoy a fast-paced, high energy and seasonal manufacturing environment then you will fit in well as a Sr. Analyst, Transportation for Scotts Miracle-Gro. On a day-to-day basis you will analyze our inbound and outbound freight to determine potential cash flow and saving opportunities. This position supports the distribution execution team to ensure Scotts branded products are distributed on time and at the lowest possible cost. Activities will include analysis of transportation expenses and plant support for our TMS system issues and standard operating processes. Ensures freedom to operate through the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, company policy, all legal/regulatory considerations, and company/regional Safety and Quality procedures.

What you'll do in this role:
  • Owns the relationship between the transportation providers and all Scotts corporate business partners to promote exceptional service to customers while maintaining efficient distribution operations.
  • Support DC operations through route guide compliance, carrier scheduling, RMA processing, freight updates and shipping quotes.
  • Drives transportation effectiveness and efficiency improvements with data based analysis and best practice recommendations.
  • Utilizes TMS, SAP, SAP EWM, Microsoft Office, the Google Suite and other reporting mechanisms to highlight improvement areas and measure site performance.
  • Updates TMS & SAP with new vendor details and updates to support operational execution including invoice management and EDI tracking.
  • Drives operational excellence through standardized KPIs across the network.
  • Fosters a team environment and engages providers to drive superior performance.
  • Provides support for transportation network changes, system installations, new product launches, product transitions, and acquisitions.
  • Provides daily/weekly/monthly transportation and logistics reporting.
  • Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned .


What you'll need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, finance or other related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of transportation/logistics operations or logistics analytics experience.
  • Extensive experience with SAP, SAP EWM, Business Warehouse (or similar reporting software), Tableau, Google Suites, TMS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical experience and knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures within a manufacturing CPG company and general knowledge of retail business a plus.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with transportation provider leadership to help deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communications, organization, consulting, resource management and technology utilization skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with a solid record of leading change and delivering results.
  • Flexibility to accommodate 10%+- travel is required based on business need.
  • Supply Chain, transportation, or logistics operational experience
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access
  • Expert in Google Suite, particularly Google Docs and Data Studio
  • Expert in SAP
  • Familiarity with Tableau
  • Business Warehouse, Business Objects or other data warehouse reporting experience

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $87,600.00 - $103,100.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
