Job Description:

The Transportation Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for global transportation processes and system solutions that support the International Parts and Components network. Key solutions include the Transportation Management System, visibility tools, reporting and analytics, and integrations used across multiple transportation modes and partners. This role ensures transportation technology solutions remain operational and meet partner and stakeholder needs. The Transportation Specialist collaborates with technical and non-technical business partners to identify and implement continuous improvements that create value through system automation, analytics, and consistent global standards across transportation teams.

What You Will Do:

• Be part of the global International Transportation Business Solutions team that deploys and supports enterprise-wide, end-to-end international transportation solutions for the International Transportation Parts and Components network. These solutions move parts and components from more than 2,000 suppliers to over 100 manufacturing plants and Aftermarket parts distribution centers worldwide and supports international Aftermarket distribution center to distribution center and distribution center to dealer moves.

• Actively contribute to a global Transportation business solutions team that deploys and supports enterprise impactful end-to-end International Transportation Parts & Components solutions moving parts and components from over 2,000 suppliers to over 100 manufacturing plants and Aftermarket Parts Distribution Centers (DC) worldwide, and Aftermarket DC to DC and DC to Dealer for International Parts and Components moves.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for international transportation systems and processes, supporting global operations teams and internal and external solution partners while driving continuous improvement through process enhancements, automation, and analytics.

• Ensure Transportation Management, e2open GLO, Parts Viz, and supporting systems operate effectively and provide users with the transportation capabilities they need.

• Provide exceptional customer service by troubleshooting and resolving issues raised by customers and users.• Partner with global teams to configure systems based on customer requirements while maintaining established operational standards.

• Continuously improve operations by streamlining processes, strengthening standard work, and eliminating waste.

• Develop dependable system processes and procedures that deliver accurate, consistent outcomes for users and customers.

• Train, establish, and support internal users across transportation systems.

• Manage detailed, complex tasks from start to finish in a timely manner with minimal instruction or review


What You Have (Basic Requirements):

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.

Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.

• Progressively responsible experience in transportation, supply chain, or logistics.

• Experience designing, prototyping, and configuring process workstreams.

• Project management experience leading cross-functional teams.

• Ability to build consensus across multiple functional areas.

• Strong presentation and communication skills.

• Experience transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and customers.

• Experience with Blue Yonder TMS and e2open GLO.

• Strong knowledge of Snowflake, SQL, EDI/API, and Power BI.

• Six Sigma or Lean experience.


What You Will Get:

You’ll have the opportunity to work with dealers and multiple teams across Caterpillar (Cat Trade COE, Cat Insurance Services, Cat Legal, Division Compliance, and Distribution Services Divisions) to mitigate risk and ensure all aspects of warranty claiming comply with applicable regulations.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
