Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters in Grapevine, TXis seeking a Transportation Services Manager to direct local logistics, carrier relationships, and strategic process improvements to deliver cost-effective, scalable operations. Key duties include managing carrier tenders and rate negotiations, optimizing transport budgets, driving automation and lean processes, and collaborating with Warehouse Operations to meet customer demand and support company growth.

Your Challenges:

Ensure performance of local transportation related activities: 60%

• Implement and control key performance indicators (service, cost, quality, ...)
• Consult with Warehouse Operations to anticipate, understand/challenge customer's requests - Implement win/win transportation solutions
• Control transportation cost allocation including process automation
• Assist corporate audits, ask & drive specific audits on request
• Ensure adherence to budget and monitor spend.
• Participate in processes to optimize packaging and packaging spend

Manage Transportation Service Providers: 30 %

• Lead the Transportation Service Provider Selection process
• Originate calls for tender and rate negotiation
• Facilitate regular business reviews focusing on contract adherence and continuous process improvement
• Transportation partner monitoring and audit (Performance, billing accuracy...)

Continuous Improvement: 10%

• Develop and implement company policies related to Transportation
• Manage and drive improvement and cost savings projects related to Logistics and Transportation - share experience and best practices
• Transportation Service provider development / opportunity expansion
• Develop and implement lean processes and process automation
• Participate in setting the business / logistics strategy including ensuring demand ramp-up requirements are met
• Process and analyze damage claims to validate carrier performance and packaging standards - Focus efforts to identify areas to improve in the spirit of continuous improvement

Your Boarding Pass (Required):

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain or Finance.
• Minimum of Seven (7) years' experience in Transportation, Logistics, Warehousing, or Freight Forwarding
• Procurement or contract management experience
• Experience with Logistics and Transportation
• Strong experience is supplier management and relationship management
• In-Depth understanding of Transportation costs including accessorial charges and fees
• Knowledge to analyze large and multi-dimensional data sets

Travel Required:

• 15% Domestic

• Onsite: 80% Onsite
• Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily
• Hearing: able to hear and participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on a production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily.
• Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.
• Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
• Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs frequently.
• Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs frequently.
• Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools daily.
• Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on a computer daily.
• Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving
• Standing: able to stand for discussion in offices on the production floor several times a week
• Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice rarely.
• Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily.
• Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
