DescriptionGPI has an immediate opening for a Transportation Senior Project Manager in our Morgantown, WV office. We offer opportunities to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment on a variety of transportation projects for federal, state, local, and private clients. Ideal candidates will hold a Professional Engineer certification or a Professional Surveyor License and have experience working with the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways (WVDOH), Abandoned Mine Land Reclamation program (AML), and/or US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
Responsibilities:- Plan and manage all aspects of transportation projects.
- Independently coordinate the work of engineers and balance the project delivery team throughout the entire project's development
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing and proposal development, contractual matters, design and production meetings
- Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Conduct work sessions for design development and contract documents in conjunction with staff from other technical disciplines
- Coordinate workload throughout entire project development and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
- Track and manage project budgets
- Proficiency and experience utilizing software applications (e.g., MicroStation, Open Roads, Civil-3D, etc.) with minimal to no guidance
- Mentor staff
Qualifications:- 10+ years of experience
- Bachelor of Science in related field (M.S. is preferred)
- PE licensure or Professional Surveyors License
- WVDOT Transportation Engineering Technician Certification (TRETCNO) a plus
- Experience with WVDOH, AML, and USACE required
- Experience with County and municipal clients a plus
- Quality control quality assurance, and project management experience is required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Positive attitude and good work ethic with a desire to work in a collaborative environment
Requirements- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
- Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
- Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
