Job DescriptionAre you passionate about shaping the future of transportation? We're seeking a talented professional to join our dynamic team and lead impactful toll and transportation studies that drive strategic decision-making for clients and communities. In this role, you'll combine expert technical knowledge with leadership and innovation to tackle complex transportation challenges. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and managing scopes of work and work schedules.
- Directing and reviewing technical work performed by team members, including collection and analysis of transportation data (traffic counts, travel pattern surveys, travel time/delay studies and stated-preference surveys), travel demand modeling, econometric modeling, T&R spreadsheet models and risk analysis.
- Directing and reviewing specialty work such as stated-preference surveys and the preparation of socio-economic data/forecasts.
- Leading the production of technical documentation, including reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Performing toll rate studies
- Analyzing toll collection methods (All-Electronic Tolling)
- Preparing annual T&R reports
- Conducting high-level quality reviews of work products and overseeing detailed verification by team members.
- Collaborating with the business development team to develop proposals and respond to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Reviewing draft proposals for compliance with firm policies, industry standards, and state, local, and federal regulations.
- Meeting with current and potential future clients to review their current and future toll study requirements.
- Providing technical guidance and training to junior team members, including quality assurance and quality control of work products, and mentoring them for professional growth.
Skills & Abilities- Expert knowledge of principles and methods for moving people and goods across all transportation modes, along with understanding of current transportation trends and issues, including relative costs and benefits.
- Solid knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and governmental processes that impact transportation and planning.
- Expert knowledge of regional and community planning principles, techniques, models, and equipment applied to transportation systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Community Planning, Regional Planning, or related discipline; OR Master's degree in one of these fields
- AICP, PTP, PE, or CEP certification (or equivalent approved credential)
- 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, OR 6 years of experience with a master's degree
- Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirements
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required, with frequency varying based on project and workload demands
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with industry software for travel demand modeling, highway capacity analysis, traffic simulation and statistical analysis.

This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional CompensationAll bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
