Job Summary

Oversees enterprise transportation to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. Develops and implements strategies to optimize routes, reduce costs, manage relationships with carriers, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advises team members on transportation best practices, including safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, to ensure optimal operations.
  • Assists manager in developing and implementing strategic plans that align transportation activities with overall business objectives and operational goals.
  • Coordinates processes and assignments to ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods, optimizing routes, and managing logistics challenges.
  • Defines project terms and establishes timelines for transportation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and resource availability.
  • Devises solutions to transportation-related issues, such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, and compliance challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Directs workflow of the transportation team, ensuring that daily operations, including fleet management, scheduling, and route planning, are performed effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards, both internally and externally, including DOT, OSHA, and other applicable laws.
  • Evaluates performance of transportation operations by reviewing data and reports on delivery times, costs, and service levels, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Implements systems and software to improve tracking, reporting, and management of transportation activities, enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Manages staff performance and development, coaching team members to achieve their full potential in contributing to the department's goals.
