Full Job Description
Location: Mt. Sterling, IL

Department: Dot Transportation, Inc.

Reports To: Senior Transportation Manager

Salary Range: $76,285 - $114,428 annually, plus bonus opportunity

As a Transportation Manager, you will lead transportation operations and develop high-performing teams that safely and efficiently deliver exceptional service. You will drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, cost management, process development, and effective leadership while partnering with peers across the transportation network to achieve shared goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage and develop a team of drivers/office staff.
  • Balance competing priorities while addressing customer, employee, and operational challenges.
  • Partner with transportation, distribution, and corporate teams to successfully lead change and achieve business objectives
  • Manage remote employees through effective communication, coaching, accountability, and performance management.
  • Drive cost improvement initiatives, eliminate waste, and implement process improvements that enhance operational performance.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent Dot experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to operational excellence


YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Transportation, logistics, supply chain, or operations experience
  • Experience leading remote employees and driving organizational change


ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Travel - Travel approximately twice per month to terminals and driver recruiting events. Must have the ability to travel independently without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
  • Schedule - Ability to work a flexible schedule. Will include some evening/week-end calls and occasional after-hours events.
