Position Summary
The Transportation Liability Leader oversees complex, high-exposure commercial auto liability and transportation-related claims while providing technical leadership to the claims team. Serving as a subject matter expert in liability claims handling, this role leads claim strategy, file quality reviews, reserving practices, and claim resolution efforts involving commercial vehicles and fleet operations. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in transportation claims, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to coach and develop claims professionals while driving timely and effective claim resolution.

Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex, high-exposure commercial auto liability and transportation-related claims involving commercial vehicles and fleet operations.
  • Lead claim investigations, liability evaluations, negotiation strategies, and claim resolution efforts.
  • Oversee claims workflows, case assignments, claim priorities, and claim strategies to support efficient operations.
  • Conduct file reviews to ensure quality claim handling, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to claims adjusters and claims professionals.
  • Build and develop a high-performing claims team through ongoing training, support, and professional development.
  • Ensure appropriate reserving practices, claim documentation, and timely claim resolution.
  • Partner with operations, safety, legal, and risk management teams to support effective claim outcomes and risk mitigation.
  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert on commercial auto liability and transportation claims.
  • Support claims quality initiatives, regulatory compliance requirements, and continuous improvement efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Active Adjuster License required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience handling complex commercial auto liability claims, transportation claims, fleet claims, or trucking-related claims, or commercial vehicle claims.
  • Advanced knowledge of liability investigations, claim evaluation, negotiations, reserving practices, and claim resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop claims adjusters and claims professionals.
  • Experience leading claims workflows, case assignments, and claims strategies.
  • Experience conducting file reviews and providing constructive performance feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver timely and effective claim resolution.
  • Strong understanding of transportation risk management, liability exposure, and regulatory compliance.
