POSITON SUMMARY:

Support the Operations Control Center (OCC) - MOW by leveraging modern AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance day-to-day operational efficiency. This role serves as the department's primary resource for digital tools, data management, system support, and cross-functional coordination with MTA IT, operational leadership, and senior officials on the operations floor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Systems, Data & Automation
• Build and maintain SharePoint sites, Microsoft Lists, Power Automate flows, and Monday.com boards used to track routine tasks, to-dos, and meeting follow-ups across OCC - MOW.
• Serve as OCC - MOW's point of contact with MTA IT / Product teams; monitor and support transit systems including Power BI, BETS, iRails, iTrac, SODOS, Edison, EMD, GO, Unusual, and CBH.
• Develop AI-driven workflows and automations to replace manual entry, improve operational throughput, and strengthen data quality across daily operations and emergency response.
• Clean and structure large datasets, migrate legacy Access data into sandbox/cloud environments, and build Power BI dashboards that surface operational insights for leadership decision-making.

2. Operational Floor & Incident Support
• Work directly with Superintendents and senior officials on the operations floor, anticipating their needs and providing real-time support on data, reporting, and system requests.
• Support the Incident Management workflow in RCC - including documentation, tracking, follow-up, and quick-turn responses during active incidents.
• Drive ongoing initiatives such as Operating Theater access, OCC space/move coordination, and follow-ups from recurring meetings, including Build Access and Vulnerability.
• Handle routine operational tasks: MOW Weekend Coverage tracking, RCC and iRails access requests, emergency phone checks, and Switch Report backlog closeout.

3. Department Administration & Coordination
• Submit IT tickets on behalf of team members, keep Monday.com boards current, and manage BETS data entry alongside ongoing platform learning.
• Support filing, record organization, audit prep, meeting notes, safety meetings, Everbridge notifications, and distribution list maintenance.
• Track department business needs, including contracts, mandatory training, vulnerability tracking, power removal requests, and requisitions.
• Support staffing and operational logistics: org chart updates, intern coordination, HR support, job postings, job fairs, and storeroom materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Assistant Transit Management Analyst I and II:

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration,

public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics,

architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting,

transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human

resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management

or in a related area, or
  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of

satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration,

accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or

methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program

evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment

program planning or administration, security management; or general administration.

Associate Transit Management Analyst:
  1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business

administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering

technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science,

finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban

planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations

research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full-time

satisfactory professional experience working in budget administration, accounting,

economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods

analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation,

personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program

planning or administration, security management; or general administration; or

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and three years

of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.

DESIRED SKILLS:
• Excellent communication - written and verbal, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally across all levels, including Superintendents and senior officials.
• Cross-functional collaboration - proven ability to work effectively with operations, leadership, IT, and external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail - accuracy and consistency in data entry, reporting, documentation, and follow-through.
• Strong project management skills - ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple initiatives to completion.
• Hands-on proficiency with Power BI, SharePoint, BETS, iRails, iTrac, and other transit systems, along with Monday.com and the full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), Microsoft Lists, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Familiarity with incident management processes in an operational/control center.

Preferred / Added Advantage
• Experience with SQL, Python, and Azure to support ETL work, data validation, and data quality efforts.
• Familiarity with MTA / transit operations environments, including control center workflows, dispatch coordination, and field/maintenance operations terminology.
• Experience building AI-driven automations or low-code solutions (e.g., Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Python scripts) to replace manual processes and improve reporting accuracy.
