The role:

Our Public Transportation Office is looking to hire a transit analyst to fill a recently created position! You will prepare written and digital communication to keep transit providers informed of funding and training opportunities. You will also be responsible for oversight and technical support for transit agencies receiving federal and state grants to ensure they are meeting state and federal requirements. A day in the life:
  • Monitor and provide oversight to ensure public transit providers are meeting federal and state requirements.
  • Evaluate transit provider quarterly reporting of revenues, expenses, service data, accidents, assets and civil rights complaints. Resolve issues and discrepancies.
  • Review transit provider reimbursement requests for eligible expenses and documentation and work directly with transit providers to correct issues.
  • Guide transit providers in properly planning transportation improvement activities.
  • Communicate public transportation information internally and externally.
  • Draft and review communication plans, announcements, materials and contact lists for transit providers.
  • Identify public transit success stories and develop public communications to highlight the success of federal and state transit funding programs.
  • Update and maintain the agency's public transportation webpages.
  • Prepare educational materials about public transportation.
  • Provide customer service and technical services to transit providers receiving state and federal transportation program funding.
  • Requires working in an office environment, evening or weekend work and travel.
  • Hybrid work options available - the person in this position will be required to work in the office at least eight times per year.

Minimum qualifications:

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

OR

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years experience coordinating or administering a program.
