Job DescriptionThe Associate Manager, Transfer Acquisition leads a team of Transfer Acquisition Specialists responsible for executing independent agency book-of-business transfer and conversion initiatives. This role is accountable for driving successful conversion outcomes, retention performance, operational efficiency, and agency experience across all assigned transfer programs.
The Associate Manager ensures the team effectively manages agency transitions from planning through stabilization while partnering with Sales, Underwriting, Operations, Product, and Technology to remove barriers, mitigate risks, and optimize results. This leader develops talent, establishes best practices, monitors portfolio performance, and drives continuous improvement across transfer acquisition activities.
The role does not own underwriting authority, pricing strategy, or long-term portfolio profitability but is accountable for execution excellence, conversion success, and agency engagement throughout the transfer process.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Performance Management- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Transfer Acquisition Specialists.
- Establish performance expectations, goals, and development plans.
- Monitor individual and team productivity, quality, and business results.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development discussions.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
Transfer Strategy & Execution Oversight- Oversee execution of agency book transfer and conversion initiatives.
- Ensure consistent implementation of transfer methodologies, workflows, and best practices.
- Manage workload prioritization and resource allocation across the team.
- Monitor transfer timelines, milestones, and stabilization efforts.
- Resolve escalated issues impacting agency conversion success.
Agency Partnership & Change Management- Build and maintain strong relationships with key agencies and distribution partners.
- Serve as an escalation point for agency concerns and complex transfer situations.
- Guide agencies through change management activities during transitions.
- Partner with field sales leadership to maximize agency engagement and adoption.
Conversion Performance & Retention- Analyze quote conversion, policy binding, retention, and transfer completion metrics.
- Identify trends impacting performance and implement corrective actions.
- Develop strategies to improve conversion outcomes and minimize disruption during transitions.
- Monitor business results and agency satisfaction throughout the transfer lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Leadership- Partner with Sales, Underwriting, Operations, Product, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure successful transfer execution.
- Influence prioritization of operational and technology enhancements supporting transfer activities.
- Facilitate resolution of cross-functional obstacles and process gaps.
- Drive alignment on execution plans and communication strategies.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement- Establish standardized processes, reporting, and performance measurement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Promote adoption of automation, technology solutions, and best practices.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance transfer outcomes and customer experience.
Data, Reporting & Risk Management- Monitor team and program performance against established KPIs.
- Deliver regular business updates and executive-level reporting.
- Identify operational, compliance, and execution risks.
- Develop mitigation plans and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation standards are maintained.

Required Qualifications- Experience working with independent agencies, agency operations, or carrier distribution models.
- Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance products and agency workflows.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience managing complex projects, implementations, or business transitions.
- Strong communication, influencing, and change management skills.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive business results.
- Experience overcoming objections, building relationships, and influencing stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience managing agency book transfers or conversion initiatives.
- Experience leading teams in sales operations, agency management, onboarding, or implementation environments.
- Knowledge of agency management systems, policy administration platforms, and conversion processes.
- Experience leading process improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
Education- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience- 5+ years of experience in insurance, agency operations, sales operations, implementation, or business transformation.
- 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team management experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Directly supervises a team of Transfer Acquisition Specialists.
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, talent development, and workforce planning.

CompensationCompensation: $90,700 - $105,000 depending on experience and qualifications
