About the Transaction Advisory Services Team

Our Transaction Advisory Services team works directly with business owners, private equity groups and strategic buyers to navigate the complexities of buying, selling and transitioning ownership of a business. We provide financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, valuation and other transaction-related services for small-to-middle-market businesses, helping clients make informed decisions throughout the transaction process.

About the Manager Role

The Manager will work collaboratively with practice leaders and team members to execute financial due diligence, business valuation analyses and other transaction-based consulting engagements. The Manager will play a key role in managing engagements, developing analyses and deliverables, and providing high-quality insights to support client decision-making.

The Manager will report to and work closely alongside the practice leaders and will possess strong project management capabilities, technical knowledge and critical thinking skills, including the ability to interpret and analyze client financial information in the context of applicable accounting standards. This role offers the opportunity to take on significant responsibility in a fast-paced consulting environment while managing multiple engagements and mentoring team members.

This position will be based out of our South Burlington, VT or Albany, NY office, with remote capabilities also considered.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead day-to-day responsibilities in buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements with both private equity and strategic corporate buyers across a wide range of industries
  • Lead diligence meetings with target company management team
  • Perform quality of earnings and working capital analyses, including formulation of adjusting entries to client financial statements
  • Understand and evaluate financial and operational trends of subject companies
  • Assist with analyzing the financial operations of the target companies and identify issues that may impact the purchase price and resolving them
  • Prepare and communicate due diligence findings in a formal report
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
  • Assist in preparing proposals and engagement letters
  • Supervise Associates and provide performance review feedback

To be successful in this role, you will bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years in public accounting (audit and/or transaction advisory), with 2+ years in transaction advisory preferred
  • CPA license preferred
  • Excellent technical skills, including data management and analysis
  • Experience in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A well-rounded balance of financial accounting and business acumen
  • Capability of managing multiple projects and tasks on short-notice engagements
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and flexibility to perform within a time-sensitive, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work at varying levels of responsibility depending on project type and timing; willingness to flex upwards and downwards over the course of an engagement
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
