About The Position
The Training Supervisor - Maintenance is responsible for the development and delivery of primarily, but not limited to -Technician, Electrician, Machinist, and/or Welding Repairman training for the Fossil, CTG, Hydro, and Nuclear facilities' craft personnel.
*Strong mechanical background with emphasis in Pipefitting, Welding and Welding Codes is preferred.*
Key responsibilities include:
- Development and delivery of training for Energy Center maintenance craft apprentices and journeyman
- Schedule courses/training dates, provide hands-on and classroom instruction, prepare, validate and grading exams and evaluating student performance, and implementing appropriate remedial measures.
- Knowledgeable in SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and other welding processes as required to support plant maintenance and operations.
- Interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS) to effectively train personnel.
- Inspect welds and perform quality checks to ensure welding integrity, workmanship standards, and compliance
- Design, build or procure and maintain suitable training aids to support classroom training
- Assume responsibility for the safety, conduct, development, and appraisal of the student and maintain all necessary documentation.
- Routinely review and revise training content as needed to ensure the most current information, processes, and training methods are being utilized.
- Work closely with customers and other learning stakeholders to assess and deliver training in the most consistent, effective, and efficient manner possible.
- Work with Corrective Action personnel to provide assessment and investigation services to the generating facilities. Ensure that applicable lessons learned are included in maintenance training and update training to prevent recurrence
Qualifications
- Five or more years of relevant experience is required (e.g. Journeyman Electrician, Technician, or Machinist experience, Certified Repairman experience, utility or industrial maintenance experience, experience developing/delivering adult technical training, etc).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline preferred. Experience developing and delivering adult training preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and provide excellent customer service. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio. Ability to make decisions and use independent judgement
Additional Information
Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for this position. Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may require a demonstration of performance skills.
Compensation Range:
$88,500.00 - $137,200.00

Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
