The Training Specialist will play a critical role in advancing large‑scale training, adoption, and change initiatives within the public health domain. This position is responsible for driving organizational readiness, modernizing learning experiences, and ensuring stakeholders can effectively adopt new processes, technologies, and ways of working. The Training Specialist will be responsible for curriculum design and 508 compliance and will work with cross-functional teams including technologists, systems experts, and program leadership—to assess current workflows, identify systemic gaps, and translate organizational goals into clear, actionable training strategies.
Responsibilities
This role requires a deep understanding of how people, processes, and systems interact within complex public health environments. The consultant will analyze proposed changes, evaluate downstream impacts, and develop comprehensive learning solutions that support rollout, sustainment, and long‑term adoption. They will build scalable training programs tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring accessibility, engagement, and measurable effectiveness across modalities.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience developing, administering, and managing learning curricula and training initiatives
- Experience delivering large‑scale training in diverse modalities and forums (i.e. microlearning creation, in person facilitation, job aid development, and potentially eLearning creation).
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (e.g. developers, SMEs)
- Experience leading and mentoring teams, including staff management and collaboration
- Experience with client or executive management and engagement
- Experience training highly technical data science related content
- Possession of strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Captivate, etc.
- Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements for a variety of product types
- Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced and dynamic environments
- Ability to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelors degree
Preferred:
- Experience in the Public Health domain
- Experience as an ISD (Instructional Systems Designer), instructor or curriculum designer
- Experience developing or delivering training using AI tools (i.e. WellSaid)
- Experience managing and scaling learning resources
- Knowledge of gamification techniques for learning environments
