HPC-Industrial powered by Clean Harbors is looking for a Training Manager to join their safety conscious team! Reporting to the Director, Training & Staffing, the Training Manager, Academy Operations is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and execution of training operations across multiple Training Academies throughout the United States.

This role ensures the consistent delivery of onboarding, regulatory, safety, equipment awareness, and competency-based training while maintaining high standards for instructor performance, training quality, learner experience, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) compliance, training records, document control, and operational readiness.

The Training Manager serves as the operational leader for Academy activities and is responsible for ensuring all locations operate as a unified training system. This includes oversight of Academy scheduling, instructor resources, classroom and practical training operations, equipment readiness, training documentation, learner throughput, and program quality.

A key responsibility of this role is ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee training records. The Training Manager will establish strong documentation practices, identify and correct record gaps, maintain appropriate document control measures, and ensure training records provide reliable evidence of employee training, qualifications, and competency.

The Training Manager will also support the continued development and modernization of training programs. This includes developing new programs, reviewing and improving existing content, cleaning up outdated or inconsistent materials, and leveraging AI and emerging technologies where appropriate to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of training development and administration.

Working closely with Program Managers, Operations, HSE, Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Subject Matter Experts, and field leadership, the Training Manager ensures training delivery aligns with workforce requirements, OH&S and regulatory requirements, competency standards, and organizational objectives.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring significant travel throughout the United States to support Academy operations, instructors, program implementation, audits, new Academy development, and operational requirements.

The role is critical to developing a scalable Academy model capable of supporting workforce growth, improving employee readiness, strengthening compliance, reducing operational risk, and advancing competency development throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of Training Academies across the United States.
  • Ensure consistent execution of training programs, processes, documentation standards, and learner experience across all locations.
  • Establish operational standards for classrooms, training yards, equipment, facilities, training records, and instructional resources.
  • Monitor Academy performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the opening, expansion, and integration of new Academy locations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Academy processes through technology, automation, and more efficient ways of working.
  • Travel regularly between Academy locations and other operational sites to provide leadership, oversight, coaching, and support.


Qualifications

Education
  • Post-secondary education in Training, Education, Business, Operations Management, Adult Learning, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline preferred.


Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in training, workforce development, operations, or industrial services.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations preferred.
  • Experience leading instructors, trainers, or operational teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing standardized processes and systems.
  • Experience supporting large-scale workforce onboarding and competency programs preferred.
  • Experience with training records management, learning management systems, or training data quality preferred.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or improving training programs and instructional content preferred.
  • Experience with document control, controlled training materials, or quality management processes preferred.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools, digital learning technologies, or emerging technologies to improve training or business processes considered an asset.
  • Industrial services, field operations, safety, or competency-based training experience considered an asset.

  • Travel frequency will vary based on business and Academy requirements and may include extended or consecutive periods away from the employee's primary work location.
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice may be required to support operational and workforce needs.
