Duties

Help

• You will serve as the Deputy Training Excellence and Readiness Officer.
• You will assist in the development and gathering of metrics used to measure training effectiveness.
• You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing an ongoing program of training safety assessments and evaluations critical to selection and training of SEAL/SWCC candidates.
• You will advise the Commanding Officer on all matters relating to workplace safety and environmental programs in accordance with Navy and OSHA regulations.
• You will use your NSW training expertise, to interact and advise management officials of higher rank at higher headquarters and other DON and Joint Services activities.

• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing training and safety programs, specifically high-risk safety programs (e.g., live-fire, demolition, air, dive); and applying Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Risk Control System principles to identify and mitigate hazards in a high-risk training environment; and developing, planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating policy, instruction within High-Risk Training Safety (HRTS) program requirements.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Several vacancies may be filled.

Prior SOF experience is preferred (a minimum of 10 years is desired).

The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.

The position may require the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.

This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station (8% of the FY).

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
