Summary:
The Training Center Coordinator is responsible for all administrative aspects of the American Heart Association (AHA) approved class curriculum, as well as other required certification. The Training Center (TC) Program Coord teaches the Instructor Essentials Course(s) as well as monitors Instructor. This position follows AHA standard AHA curriculum for HS (HeartSaver), BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). The Senior CPR instructor should hold/maintain faculty designation through the AHA and have practical experience in performing the skills taught and the ability to communicate the skills to students and instructors in a clear and precise manner.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Clinical experience as RN, Paramedic-EMT.
• Current State of Illinois RN licensure or Paramedic -EMT certification, as applicable.
• Two years of experience in a healthcare occupation where the skills and materials taught are within the provider's scope of practice.
• Must attain and maintain American Heart Association provider cards for BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Must attain and maintain faculty credential through the American Heart Association for BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Experience as an American Heart Association instructor.
• AHA Faculty Status in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NPR as appropriate to licensure level and current clinical practice.
• Demonstrates proper use of all equipment to faculty teaching training center programs.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Proficiency with database software, learning management systems.
Physical Demands:
• Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking through most of the course.
• Work requires travel throughout the Rush Health System
• Work requires lifting or carrying objects 35-40lbs and bending and kneeling on the floor to demonstrate resuscitation techniques.
• The ability to check documents for errors, use a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.
• Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and contact with potentially infectious materials and/or strong chemical agents.

Training Faculty status is a TCC appointment and is an internal position to that Training Center only. Training Faculty status does not transfer to other Training Centers. When a Training Faculty member transfers to another Training Center, it is as an instructor, not as a TF until credentials are attained
