Senior Military AnalystJob DescriptionJob Duties: - Qualified candidate will provide analysis of concepts, plans, strategy, policy, and doctrine.
- Duties and tasks will support concept to capability analysis and integration across DOTMLPF.
- Must be able to express ideas and recommendations accurately, clearly, and concisely in both oral and written communication
- Possess critical thinking skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
- Must have an understanding of how to integrate the Army's capabilities with other services, U.S. government agencies, and foreign government partners
- A broad understanding of the formal and informal procedures and processes for resourcing DOD and for developing national security and military strategy
- The ability to organize and lead multidisciplinary planning teams.
Additional Duties Include: - Participate in and maintain TRADOC G-9 leadership awareness of on-going Army, Joint and Multi-Service Concept development.
- Support the development of the Army Campaign Plan.
- Participate and support HQDA G-3/5/7 in Support for Strategic Analysis (SSA), maintaining TRADOC G-9s leadership awareness of SSA activities and potential future interest areas.
- Develop special projects as required.
- Provide technical support including reports, summaries, comment matrices, strategic milestones, or other documents to G-9 in the analysis of OSD, Joint, and internal Army strategies, campaign plans, plans and policies, and related supporting documents.
- Develop, write, edit, coordinate review of, and document the policies, procedures, and processes integral to the Army's capabilities development efforts for G-9 consideration and daily use.
- These efforts include, but are not limited to the modernization of the brigade combat formations and the processes by which the Army modernizes and transforms all its formations and organizations.
- Provide subject matter expertise in developing and documenting current and future force capability gaps
- Evaluations of candidate DOTMLPF solutions
- Capability assessments of rapidly implemented DOTMLPF capabilities
- Development of military concepts, concepts of operations (CONOPS), Concept Capability Plans, doctrinal manuals, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
- White Papers in terms of organization, content, relevance, and schedule to assist with improving current and future forces.
- Provide and document analytical and systems integration support to assess battlefield deficiencies and support the translation of those deficiencies into operational requirements.
- These operational requirements are produced in coordination and consultation with all appropriate Army, Joint, and OSD entities.
- Conduct and document gap analysis by identifying the capability gaps for the current and future force on a daily basis.
- This includes gap analysis of any directed capabilities as well as those identified from Joint and Army concepts.
- Monitor meetings, council of colonels (CoC), senior leader seminars and In Progress Reviews (IPRs) related to the Army's force modernization strategy.
- Participate in Army Staff (ARSTAF) and Joint Staff (JS) working groups, as required.
- Coordinate across the ARSTAF, Joint Staff, and TRADOC key staffs to obtain and synchronize data and information for presentation at various forums and key leader engagements.
- Coordinate, participate in and document AUSA planning processes and events. Deliver IPRs to senior Army leaders and develop AUSA Industry and Information Papers.
Required Experience: Qualified candidates will be a U.S. Army trained professional (with 12+ years' service) who will possess and demonstrate the following:
- Experience with TRADOC, HQDA Staff or Joint Staff Experience
- Experience and understanding of the TRADOC capabilities development and integration process and Capabilities Based Assessments (CBA)
- Experience with the Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
- Experience in developing timeline document(s) synthesizing HQDA/DoD senior leader priorities, Strategic Portfolio Analysis Review (SPAR), key leader engagements (KLEs), Industry Engagements, and Media Opportunities for synchronization across TRADOC.
Current Secret clearance is required.
