Role RoadmapKalshi Trading is an affiliated trading entity that operates across all different categories on Kalshi. We are looking for backend engineers who can build and maintain the infrastructure underlying our trading operations. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer
- Experience directly building trading systems including order management
- Experience building robust high performance event-driven systems and APIs
- Experience writing concurrent code
- Very comfortable with relational databases (e.g. Postgres)
- Familiarity with the AWS stack (especially RDS and ECS)
- Proficiency in one of: Golang, Rust, C++
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will also potentially have one or more of these attributes:
- Familiarity with stream processing (Kafka)
- Familiarity with frontend development
- Familiarity with machine learning, neural networks, or generative AI including LLMs
- Experience trading on Kalshi or other prediction markets

NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:Salary Range: $200,000 to $300,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
This salary range is based on the current available market data and represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy and few titles, but a broad range of experience is represented within roles.
