Trademark Paralegal

Description:

As a Trademark Paralegal, you will be part of a dynamic team of professionals working directly with attorneys and clients to support Banner Witcoff's IP practice. We pride ourselves on our relentless attention to detail and place an immense value on providing exceptional service, both internally and externally. We work as individuals, as team members, and as part of a growing and innovative law firm. We are seeking a full-time Trademark Paralegal to join our firm and become an integral part of our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file U.S. TM applications and handle all filings and reporting through registration as well as U.S. opposition and cancellation proceedings
  • Prepare and file all maintenance papers for U.S. marks
  • Request and oversee foreign filings and reporting through registration
  • Obtain client instructions for maintenance and renewal of U.S. and foreign marks
  • Report status to clients for U.S. and foreign marks
  • Review and satisfy the daily stat bar as it pertains to trademarks
  • Handle domain name registrations and renewals
  • Prepare status reports
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements:
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in trademark prosecution
  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Google's G Suite Platforms
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to balance multiple tasks with proven strong time management skills

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000 annually. This is a non-exempt position. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Chicago, IL. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
