Full Job Description
Job Description Summary
This is a newly created, high-visibility position within GE Vernova's nuclear supply chain organization - a genuine ground-floor opportunity to build something. As our first dedicated Trade Compliance & Sustainability Specialist, you will be the internal go-to expert bridging two critical dimensions: ensuring our global supply base meets international trade regulations, and operationalizing our sustainability commitments across the supplier ecosystem.

As the nuclear business grows - with new projects launching across multiple countries - this role carries real career trajectory. Within two to three years, the expectation is that this role evolves in scope, seniority, and team-building responsibility.

What You Will Do
  • Manage Trade Compliance Operations: Own import/export documentation, Harmonized System (HS) classification, and country-of-origin determinations; ensure all cross-border shipments meet applicable local and international regulatory standards
  • Monitor and Interpret Evolving Regulations: Stay ahead of rapidly changing trade laws - including tariffs, sanctions, and Section 232 - and sustainability mandates such as CBAM, CTPAT, REACH, EUDR, PPWR, and PFAS, translating their implications for the nuclear supply base
  • Drive Sustainability Integration: Monitor supply chain emissions data, support life-cycle assessments, and lead reporting for key sustainability disclosures; coordinate with internal GE Vernova sustainability experts across business units to share knowledge and establish best practices
  • Conduct Supply Chain Audits: Perform internal audits of trade compliance processes; evaluate suppliers against sustainability benchmarks and integrate compliance requirements into supplier onboarding workflows
  • Build Organizational Capability: Develop and deliver targeted training programs for sourcing and supply chain teams on trade and sustainability regulations, driving awareness and adoption at the team level
  • Apply Lean Methodology: Use lean tools - including Problem Solving Reports, Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S - to identify process inefficiencies, reduce waste, and continuously improve compliance operations
  • Lead Cross-Functional Partnerships: Serve as a connector between Legal, Procurement, Logistics, and Operations teams; proactively identify where upstream supplier decisions have downstream compliance implications and close those gaps

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in supply chain, operations, or compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, cross-functional organizations and influence without direct authority
  • Strong operational instincts - you know how to move from ambiguous regulatory guidance to a concrete action plan
  • U.S. work authorization without need for immigration sponsorship (current or future)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with international trade frameworks: CBAM, CTPAT, REACH, EUDR, PPWR, PFAS, or export control regulations
  • Experience with SAP and/or EcoVadis
  • Background in or exposure to nuclear, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries
  • Experience developing and facilitating compliance or regulatory training programs
  • Lean or continuous improvement certification or demonstrated application (Kaizen, VSM, 5S)

What Will Set You Apart
  • You are equally comfortable reading a regulatory update and presenting a supplier action plan - you can translate complexity into clarity
  • You have a builder's mentality: you don't wait for a defined process, you create one
  • You are resourceful - you know when to go internal (leverage GE Vernova's network) and when to go external (research, benchmarking, industry groups)
  • You take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to resolution without needing a compliance playbook handed to you

Note: This role is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Immigration sponsorship is not available.
