Full Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Act as the principal subject-matter expert for Threat Intelligence and assist in setting the team's research direction, e.g., various scams (fake shops, investment scams, romance scams), phishing, and other online threats;
Translate research into new or improved protection vectors for the NordVPN Threat Protection product;
Collaborate with Marketing and PR to provide data-driven context on cybersecurity trends;
Share concise, evidence-based insights on social channels about emerging threats, notable campaigns, and practical safety guidance;
Contribute to scripting of short-form video explainers; participate on camera when needed;
Partner with Data Science and Engineering teams to improve ML-based Threat Intelligence, validate impact with clear metrics;
Recommend and help to onboard new tools, data sources, and processes that increase Threat Intelligence efficiency and consistency;
Mentor and coach junior researchers.
Core Requirements
4+ years of hands-on experience in the Threat Intelligence field;
Comfortable sharing insights publicly (e.g., social media, blogs, or talks);
Deep understanding of the intelligence lifecycle: collection, enrichment, pivoting, and dissemination of threat indicators and behaviors;
Ability to conduct research on protection improvements that results in a clear, argued, evidence-based action plan (Data Science and Engineering Teams are involved if needed);
Curiosity and passion for cybersecurity, with an active habit of staying current on industry trends.
Bonus Points
Experience in collaborating with Data Scientists on model development (requirements, data curation, evaluation);
Prior media experience (e.g., interviews or on-camera appearances) on Threat Intelligence topics.
