As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will support the design, analysis, and testing of spacecraft thermal control systems across Blue Origin's various programs. You should be eager to learn, comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, and ready to contribute to innovative solutions while demonstrating attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

We are looking for an early-career engineer to support the development of thermal hardware and systems. In this role, you will assist with thermal analysis, design activities, testing support, and hardware integration efforts. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience with both passive and active thermal control systems.

Responsibilities include:
  • Support design, fabrication, and testing of thermal control hardware
  • Assist with thermal analysis using hand calculations and analysis software
  • Support integration and test activities for thermal hardware
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and test procedures
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
  • Contribute to hardware assembly and testing efforts
  • Learn and apply thermal engineering principles to spacecraft applications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering discipline
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2027.
  • Coursework or project experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, or fluid mechanics
  • Familiarity with CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Internship or co-op experience in aerospace or related industry
  • Hands-on experience building or testing hardware (academic projects, clubs, competitions)
  • Exposure to thermal analysis software (Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, or similar)
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling
  • Familiarity with spacecraft thermal control concepts and hardware
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability
  • Experience with data acquisition and test equipment
  • Involvement in student engineering organizations (AIAA, SAE, rocketry clubs, etc.)
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks


Base Pay Range for:
CO applicants is $80,499.00 - $112,697.55WA applicants is $87,816.00 - $122,942.40
