Job Summary

The Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights Senior Manager - Heme-Onc in Data, Digital, and Analytics is a strategic advisor to key stakeholders and an integral contributor to Genentech's Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) planning efforts. This individual is responsible for developing or supporting the delivery of actionable insights and strategic recommendations to inform timely and critical business decisions across therapeutic areas, ecosystems, and/or business domains.

A primary responsibility of this role is to lead forecasting and market research activities within the Heme-Onc portfolio. The individual will develop and maintain short term financial and supply forecast models, long term patient-based models, conduct scenario and uncertainty analyses, lead primary market research and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to inform commercial execution and portfolio strategy decisions. As an Individual Contributor, this individual is responsible for providing strategic recommendations with moderate guidance / supervision, leveraging their capabilities. The Senior Manager works flexibly within a matrix structure, sensing business priorities and reprioritizing work to meet organizational objectives, while delivering tailored, high-impact insights that address complex business questions and align with Genentech's strategic priorities.

The Senior Manager plays a critical role in integrating analytics products into workflows, promoting a product-first culture, and driving continuous improvement through best practice sharing and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting & Strategic Modeling
  • Lead the maintenance and refinement of short term financial and supply forecasts for select brands within the Heme-Onc portfolio
  • Lead long term patient-based revenue forecasting
  • Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity testing, and uncertainty analyses to inform strategic decisions across commercial planning, portfolio prioritization, and lifecycle management.
  • Translate complex market dynamics into robust forecast assumptions and modeling frameworks.
  • Continuously evolve forecasting methodologies by incorporating new data sources, automation, and advanced analytics approaches.

Primary Market Research
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem to assess and improve the patient experience
  • Expertise in designing and fielding qualitative and quantitative primary market research plans.
  • Experience synthesizing concise summaries focused on the key insights that inform business decisions.
  • Proficiency in understanding market landscape and surfacing insights across multiple primary data sources.

Strategic Decision Support
  • Develop clear strategic recommendations by synthesizing insights across analytics, forecasting outputs, competitive dynamics, and market trends.
  • Partner with CMG stakeholders to ensure primary insights and forecasts inform key strategic decisions across the product lifecycle.
  • Communicate primary insights, forecast assumptions, risks, and key drivers to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

Product Integration & Operational Excellence
  • Promote adoption of Genentech's analytics products and platforms by integrating them into forecasting workflows and analytic processes.
  • Contribute to a product-first analytics culture by participating in product roadmap discussions, providing feedback, and helping scale analytic capabilities across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements in forecasting and analytics workflows.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and translate them into analytical questions and modeling approaches.
  • Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing key stakeholders and enabling data-driven decision making.
  • Partner with offshore or external analytics teams to ensure alignment on modeling approaches, data quality, and deliverables.

Community Leadership
  • Contribute to the broader Analytics & Insights community of practice by sharing best practices, mentoring peers, and fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Demonstrate an enterprise mindset by linking forecasting and analytics work to broader organizational priorities and patient impact.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.


Who You Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience
  • 5 years of relevant work experience (or equivalent with advanced education)
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience synthesizing concise summaries focused on the key insights that inform business decisions. Experience leading qualitative and quantitative primary research used to understand patient, HCP, and stakeholder perspectives.
  • Experience with short term and long term revenue forecasting. Experience with revenue forecasting, including patient-flow methods, launch forecasting, scenario modeling, statistical methods, and uncertainty analysis.
  • Experience building and improving forecasting models.
  • Comfortable dealing with uncertainty in a highly-matrixed organization.
  • Strong results orientation and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills.


Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in the Heme-Onc or Oncology therapeutic area.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Computer or Physical Sciences or related field.
  • MBA or Graduate-level Degree.
  • Proven track record of leadership, time-management, project management, and teamwork.
  • Cross-functional insights & analytics experience preferred
    • Experience working across multiple analytics and insights domains to strengthen strategic recommendations and forecasting assumptions, such as:
    • Competitive Intelligence: understanding of competitive landscape monitoring and its implications for forecasting and strategic planning.
    • Data Analytics: experience working with structured healthcare datasets (e.g., syndicated sales, patient-level data, claims data) and analytical tools such as Python, R, or SQL.
    • Access & Reimbursement: awareness of payer dynamics, coverage considerations, and reimbursement drivers that may influence forecast assumptions and market access.
    • Digital Measurement: exposure to digital analytics and performance measurement approaches used to inform strategy.
  • Proficiency in exploring large amounts of data, identifying important insights and building compelling narratives.
  • Proficiency in understanding market landscape and surfacing insights across multiple primary data sources.


Location
• This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and relocation benefits are not available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $153,600 - $285,200 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
