A day in the life of a Global Merchandiser, Performance Footwear at The North Face looks a little like this.
Working alongside the Merchandising Manager, you will help shape the global three-year strategy for Performance Footwear across Trail Run, Hike, and Climb. You'll partner closely with Design, Development, Regional Merchandising, Planning, Brand, and Sourcing teams while owning a portion of the product line and driving commercial success through consumer-focused product decisions. You will report to the Merchandising Manager, Performance Footwear.
Let's break down that day-in-the-life a bit more:
- Contribute to the three-year Performance Footwear strategy by helping define category direction and identifying opportunities that support brand and business objectives.
- Leverage deep expertise across Trail Run, Hike, and Climb footwear, including performance, fit, materials, construction, and costing.
- Analyze consumer insights, marketplace trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and inform seasonal product strategies.
- Own portions of the Performance Footwear line including seasonal briefs, franchise management, line planning, and delivery against revenue and margin targets.
- Lead cross-functional PODs with Design and Development partners to deliver authentic, consumer-driven products that meet business goals.
- Manage the product lifecycle and seasonal calendar for assigned categories, ensuring alignment across key milestones.
- Support global assortment and segmentation strategies while reconciling line plans with regional financial objectives.
- Partner across Planning, Brand, and Sourcing teams to ensure category strategies come to life through the Go-To-Market process.
- Present product stories and line plans to leadership teams and key external accounts, influencing decisions through strong category expertise.
- Mentor and support the development of Associate Merchants.

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3+ years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in footwear merchandising or footwear product line management.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, and Regional Merchandising teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial metrics, revenue, margin, and profitability data.
- Proven product lifecycle management experience, including line planning, briefing, and seasonal execution.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a values-driven approach to decision making.
- High degree of agility, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-moving environment.
- Growth mindset with enthusiasm for learning and continuous improvement.
- Location requirement: Must relocate to or currently live in Denver.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred:
- Experience within the performance footwear industry.
- Knowledge of Trail Run, Hike, and Climb consumer segments.
- Experience working within a global merchandising organization.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior merchandising talent.

Hiring Range:
$73,440.00 USD - $91,800.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, orcommissionpotential.
