General PurposeResponsible for executing testing protocols on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric battery tools. This role ensures the quality, functionality and reliability of products by designing and executing tests. Test Engineer creates test fixtures, writes test procedures, builds testing scripts, and identifies defects before a product launches. He/She collaborates directly with development teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize overall product design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Designs test fixtures from scratch which includes design of mechanical components, selecting appropriate sensors and electronics, creating wiring diagrams, building the fixtures, and programing to automate the equipment.
- Support engineering teams with creating appropriate test protocols.
- Prepares test cell with specimens and fixtures for testing.
- Attaches instruments to specimens as required by testing protocols, including thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure transducers, encoders and similar electromechanical measuring devices.
- Connects appropriate data acquisition hardware to testing hardware and recording protocol.
- Writes routines and scripts for automating testing protocols.
- Oversees testing ensuring continually improving safety, expediency and integrity of testing data.
- Create well written reports with graphs and tables as needed to convey data to the wider engineering teams.
- Presents results with tools such as PowerPoint in engineering conference room meetings.
- Partner with design and development teams to understand product specifications and integrate quality control early in the process.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed technical reports to stakeholders and management.
- Coordinate and oversee independent lab testing as needed.

Education/Experience RequiredB.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience or technical school training as required to perform all essential duties independently.
Required Skills/Abilities Necessary: - MS Office and Outlook experience required.
- Experience with test automation, scripting languages (e.g., LabVIEW and C++/Arduino), 3D design software (e.g. Solidworks) and specialized testing equipment.
- Meticulous approach to documenting findings and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Clear communication skills to translate technical failures into actionable fixes for development teams.
Physical Demands/RequirementsOccasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit and move around equipment in the warehouse.
Work Environment- Standard mechanical testing environment with dynamometers running continuously, including hydraulic pumps, electric motors and thermal chambers in regular operation.
- Shipping / receiving area is in close proximity to the loading dock. Periodic opening and closing of the overhead door can cause temporary temperature variations and noise levels higher than in typical office environment.
