JOB SUMMARY :
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. NNL is looking for an experienced A4W propulsion plant operator to join our team as a Test Engineer supporting A4W Fleet Interactive Training Equipment (FITE). FITEs are high-fidelity simulation platforms used to develop and maintain the operational readiness skills of the deployed fleet.
The successful candidate will support the A4W FITE platform and will cross-train to support the A1B FITE platform. Test engineers certify hardware and software-based field changes prior to deployment to the FITE sites. The test programs focus on plant operations confirming FITE operational values with expected plant response. Test Engineers also support other groups as they develop field changes as these groups leverage the Bettis located FITE preproduction units.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Semiannual travel to other NNPP sites.
Ability to cross-train on the A1B platform.
Ability to learn the simulation software platform.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills.
Ability to team and solve complex problems.
Ability to work independently and complete assignments for all aspects of work with minimal direction from management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with management and interfacing organizations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
