Full Job Description
The Test Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness, reliability, and compliance of product testing processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This role develops and maintains test quality standards, validates test methods and equipment, analyzes test performance data, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Test Quality Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain test quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure manufacturing test processes consistently detect defects and verify product functionality.
  • Review and approve test plans, test specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor test process performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Test Process Validation
  • Lead validation and qualification of manufacturing test equipment and automated test systems.
  • Verify test coverage and ensure alignment with product quality requirements.
  • Assess risks associated with test processes and implement appropriate controls.

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze test yield, failure trends, escape rates, false failures, and defect data.
  • Perform statistical analysis to improve test effectiveness and process capability.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce test escapes, improve first-pass yield (FPY), and enhance test reliability.
  • Develop dashboards and quality metrics to monitor test performance.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
  • Investigate test failures and quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Lead root cause analysis utilizing 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, and DOE techniques.
  • Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support containment activities and disposition of nonconforming products.

Equipment & Test System Quality
  • Ensure test equipment calibration and maintenance requirements are met.
  • Evaluate new test technologies and improvements to existing test systems.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineering teams to optimize test strategies and coverage.
  • Support software and hardware changes affecting manufacturing test systems.

Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, validation documentation, and test reports.
  • Support change control and risk management activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and production readiness reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance on test quality requirements during product development and manufacturing transfer.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in test engineering, quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or product validation.
  • Experience with automated test equipment, manufacturing test systems, or product validation processes.
  • Experience in electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
