Job PurposeThe
Test Engineer II within the Precision Electronics department is responsible for hands-on verification testing of software on agricultural equipment, conducted primarily in real-world field environments. This role involves direct interaction with machines, instrumentation, and operating conditions, with additional bench-level testing used to support machine-based verification activities. The position collaborates with systems and software engineering teams to ensure that software design and implementation meet defined requirements and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform verification testing of embedded software on agricultural equipment in field and bench environments
- Analyze and review system requirements to develop test strategies and plans
- Design, develop, and execute test cases and procedures aligned with feature functionality and performance expectations
- Analyze test results and failures, perform root cause investigation, and distinguish between test issues and product defects
- Create, maintain, and communicate test reports and quality status to stakeholders.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, test results, and identified defects
- Collaborate with systems engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure complete verification coverage
- Support coordination of test activities with internal teams and external partners, as required
- Identify and contribute to improvements in test processes, methodologies, and tools
Experience Required- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a test engineer or in a related role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including defect documentation and test reporting
- Ability to safely access and work on agricultural equipment in both field and shop environments
- Demonstrated troubleshooting of electrical and system integration issues in real time
- Experience developing and executing test cases based on system and software requirements
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with agricultural equipment operations and farming practices
- Experience with requirements traceability tools (e.g., Polarion, DOORS, Jama)
- Knowledge of vehicle communication networks and protocols (e.g., CAN, J1939, ISO 11783)
- Experience with tools such as CANalyzer and CANoe
- Background in electronics prototyping or wiring harness development
Pay TransparencyThe annual salary for this role is $74,625 - $114,425 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
